Manfred decided to move to Phuket Thailand and spend 6 months out
of the year over there then come back to Georgia for the other 6
months.
He married a Thai girl named Kao and they had a boy child which they
named Roland Siam Rackow. He bought a house on a hill overlooking the
ocean. Manfred got his maritime captain's license and goes by Capt.
Manny. He also finished the PADI course to become a certified dive
master. He bought a small boat and takes tourists diving. Last
year the
Hallmark Channel went to Phuket to film a special and hired Manfred
to
help because of his familiarity with the local dive sites.Last year
our
old drummer Bill French flew to Phuket to visit at Christmas since
the
film crew was going to take a break for the holidays. The day after
Christmas they were safe in Manfred's home when the giant tsunami
hit. A
few days later Manfred joined in the relief efforts and these are
some
pictures of their humanitarian altruism.
